About us Dr. Vikram Gaikwad joined CARC Pune after completing his high school in 1998. He earned his Ayurvedacharya degree (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) with First Class from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. During his academic journey, he had the privilege of learning from renowned Vaidyas (Ayurvedic doctors) who were esteemed physicians and professors of Ayurveda. Under their guidance, he gained valuable insights into diagnostic methods (clinical practice), Panchakarma, and the manufacturing process of Ayurvedic medicines. He also trained under a well-known Ayurvedic family in Pune, who have been practicing for four generations and follow the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara—a revered method of learning in Indian culture. Pune, being a significant center for Ayurveda, became both his learning ground and current place of practice. In addition, Dr. Gaikwad has established a rapport with folk practitioners in the tribal regions of Bhimashankar (Pune district). He engaged in conversations with several of these practitioners to understand their traditional diagnostic techniques and use of herbal medicines in patient care.
